When Krishna was a child, the demon Bhakasura came in the form of a huge bird to defeat Him. But Krishna, with effortless might, tore the beak of the demon and protected the cowherd boys. To commemorate this divine event, Malayappa Swamy blesses the devotees, shining resplendently on the Swarna Ratham during the Brahmotsavam.

Those who witness the radiant sevva of Mallaiyappa swami on the swarna rathnam , believed to remove the karmic burdens of devotees and bless them with prosperity and wellbeing.

The Swarna Ratha procession was accompanied by beautifully decorated elephants, who gracefully participated in the service for all vahanams. Their majestic presence added grandeur to the utsavam, making the sevā even more divine.

At 8 AM, Malayappa Swami, holding His mighty mace, began His majestic ride on the Surya Prabhai Vahanam through the Madaveedi. The procession resounded with the soulful recitals of the Divya Prabandham, guided by the revered Jeeyar Swami.

As Andal beautifully says, “Kathirmathiyan pol Mugathan” — His face radiant like the brilliant morning sunlight.

He is Suryanarayan, the life-giver and the sole source of energy for all living beings.

He is the bestower of moksha, the ultimate liberation, and the Sun who witnesses every action of every soul.

It's Said, Aditya Stotram can be recited whenever one faces obstacles or hindrances. By invoking the glory of Suryanarayan, it helps remove difficulties, brings clarity, and fills life with divine energy.

Though He is Perumal, the supreme protector who governs the world according to divine protocol, He appeared as Rama and recited the Aditya Hridayam to defeat Ravana.

That Rama, the divine prince of the Sūrya Vamsam, the glorious solar dynasty, is now present in the Madaveedi procession as Thiruvenkadavan, blessing all devotees with His divine grace.

As said, sun’s rays heal and energize our body, Chanting Rama’s name brings peace and cures the mind. As the Antaryami, He guides every soul from within.

Thirumalai appan shines bright in his red and blue vastram adorning all the jewels.

Appearing as if Sun has come down to the mada veedhi.

Truly, one needs more than two eyes to behold the divine splendor of the Lord on this glorious vahanam.

Stealing everyone 's heart amidst the crowd. Like Thirupanazhwar says ' kondalvannaik kovalanai vennai unda vaayan enn ullam kavarndhanai'.

He is slowly stealing everyone 's heart by his smile.

Day 8 , Rathotsavam and Ashwavahanam

Rathostavam Updates

"Gurave daivatāyacha, prāptāya prāpakāya cha namah Śrī Nityāya Namaha”

Salutations to the Guru, who is both God Himself and the one who leads us to Him. Salutations to the Eternal, Auspicious Lord, who is ever-present and ever-compassionate.

Here we see our guru as Thiruvenkamudiyan who rides the ratham that's pulled by lakhs of devotees.

The Agamas declare:

“Rathotsavaṁ Keśava puṣpa, Sarva pāpe pramuktate” 🌸

— Worshipping the lord during Rathotsavam is as sacred as offering countless flowers to Keśava, and it liberates devotees from all sins.

Pulling the divine chariot is considered a great act of service (kainkaryam). Each devotee who lays hands on the ropes is believed to be drawing himself closer to the Lord, both physically and spiritually.

When one pull the ratham they completely surrender themselves to Emperuman Tiruvadi.

This procession remind us of the Bhagavad gita quote.

“Sarva-dharmān parityajya, mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja Ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucah”

“Abandon all dharmas and simply surrender unto Me alone. I shall deliver you from all sins — do not grieve.”

This verse is the essence of complete surrender (śaraṇāgati). Just as devotees pull the Thiru Ther ropes today, symbolically surrendering to the Lord, the Gita reminds us that true refuge lies only in Emperuman.

Loud chants of 'Govinda  Govinda ' with devotion, their voices resonating through the hills. The entire atmosphere is filled with bhakti, music, and the fragrance of flowers.

Srinivasa looked splendid in blue - pink vastram happily riding with Sridevi and Bhudevi in green on either sides.

Ashwa Vahana updates :

At 7PM Malaiyappa started to happily ride Ashwa(horse) Vahanam.

Pilgrims surprisingly witnessed the event chanting Govinda namam.

He was in the Krishnan thirukolam

The horse represents valor, energy, and speed. When Govinda ascends this vahanam, He reveals Himself as the protector of dharma and the destroyer of evil forces.

Sitting as Antaryami in every living organisms he rides us into right path.

Malayappa Swamy, adorned in blue - red combination glittering ornaments and divine attire, appears radiant atop the white horse .

He is matchless to any.

Pallandu for this Govinda who protects his devotees always.

Overview of Remaining Day (Oct 2)

Chakrasnanam updates :

Early morning, the sacred Sudarshana Chakra of Malayappa Swamy was taken for the holy ablution in the Swami Pushkarini, amidst chanting of Vedic hymns, bhajans, and rhythmic beats of nadaswaram.

The sacred Sudarshana Chakra, remover of all adiyars’ sins, grants devotees the chance to draw closer to the Lord. Today, we are witnessing the Chakra Teertham at Swami Pushkarani, bathing in divine grace and blessings.
